Meet Lam Tze Wing Nora

DIRECTOR AND WRITER

A comparative literature and French graduate from the University of Hong Kong. Her career started as a reporter and documentary director in 2014, covering student movements in Hong Kong.

Her award-winning feature documentary Lost in the Fumes  (2017) was met with great popularity, being screened for over a year in Hong Kong, with controversies from the pro-government camp and censorship by commercial cinemas. It was shown in many international film festivals, such as International Film Festival Rotterdam, and won awards.

She started making short films at 2017, with a keen interest in female experiences, millennial dilemmas and complexity of human emotions.

Her first web comedy miniseries, Love in Kwun Tong, was released in 2021 with great success. It was the first series in the region that has a set of diverse characters and storylines, including a long-distance married gay couple being separated by Trump's immigration law, and a naive POC office newbie navigating an unrequited love in his first job. She is proud to be amongst the first filmmakers to bring LGBT and racial issues into a mainstream entertainment body of work.

Various feature film projects are in development.

She now works as writer, cinematographer, film editor and post-production manager for other filmmakers across the world for various commercial and independent productions, on documentaries, television and fiction filmmaking.
